XLphoto For administrators and users
The administrator of the system can access and modify in a web environment all the static content
of the application: help pages, FAQ, delivery notes templates, license templates, invoices templates, e-mails.

- Centrally stores images and metadata and customizes downloads embedding both user-accessible
personalized metadata (IPTC and image information) and invisible metadata (in the form of a perception-neutral
and invisible watermark) encoding image information and unique transaction identification.
- XLphoto® streamlined workflow allows scalable and secure deployment of large collections
at any resolution, leveraging different image formats and distribution protocols.
- Allows the personalization of image licensing and pricing policies for all variables, including
individual clients, dynamically generating, storing and delivering Licenses of Use according to clients
profile, image use and pricing structure at purchasing time.
- User interface engine automatically validates the contents, allowing the interface to be maintained even
by an unskilled operator. These features can dramatically cut the platform personalization costs.
- User interface engine provides several XML-like extensions providing
multilingual capabilities with "best-effort" rendering; any un-translated
terms may be replaced automatically with the corresponding term of
the closest available language, ensuring zero downtime during language-related
maintenance.
- Can optionally detect a new customer's preferred language or country of origin and automatically configure itself accordingly.
- Dynamic Distribution Engine embeds a CMM (Color Management Module) generating images in a customizable Color Space.
XLphoto® has a declared different target with respect to XLimage¬® and XLspider® positioning itself as a very specific solution
for picture agencies that can be sold both like a licensed software or as a service.
Centrica sees the XLphoto® hosting solution as a viable alternative for those digital imaging content creators
(photographers, image archives) that are not interested in the complexity or the price of a licensed software and
find a solution costing 1500 ? / 2500 ? a year more attractive. Today digital imaging is the industry standard.
(In 2004 more digital than reflex cameras and were sold; in 2006 more camera mobile phones than standard will be sold).
